The government has slapped a ban on airing local advertisements on downlinked foreign television channels.
The Information Ministry issued an order on Monday in this regard.
As per the order, the airing of advertisements on downlinked foreign televisions has been banned as per Section 19(13) of the Cable Television Networks Regulation Act 2016.
It also said, punitive actions, including cancellation of no-objection certificate, permission and licence, will be taken if any television channel violates the order.
