Government has allocated more than 501 tonnes of rice under the ‘Food for Work Programme’ for rural infrastructure development of the district.
District Relief and Rehabilitation Department (DRRD) sources said the rice would be utilised for repairing rural roads and construction of new culverts for easy movement of people.
The sources said the government has decided to build a strong rural road communication across the country for free movement of transport and people to sustain development of village level economy.
Yunus Ali, an official of DRRD, told BSS that the government also allocated 441.690 tonnes of rice under the ‘Test Relief’ project for the district.
