The 4 km long road from Hotapara to Pirujali in Gazipur Sadar Upazila has now turned into a ditch and the suffering of the people has reached its peak.
The people of about 35 villages including medical services, students and industrial workers are suffering in this. Although the road was repaired 4 years ago, now the road is broken in different places. As a result, public transport has been disrupted and accidents have increased in addition to disrupting public transport due to potholes and potholes over 1 foot in important places of the road. As a result, the people of this region always have to move on the road with serious risks.
According to the locals, more than 2 lakh people use this road every day to go to different institutions. Among these are the Nuhash Palli, a natural landscape founded by the late novelist Humayun Ahmed, and the thousands of people who come to various hospitals for treatment, including school and college students, industrial workers and other institutions. Locals demanded repairs before the road became impassable.
According to the locals, the transport workers chose this road as the easiest way to reach the northern region including Kaliakair Tangail.
Gazipur Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Abdullah Al Zaki said the Hotapara to Pirujali road has been tendered. It is not possible to work due to the rains, but the road repair work will start as soon as the weather is good
In this regard, Gazipur LGED Executive Engineer Abdul Barek said, the tender has been advertised and the renovation work will start soon.
