The gayebana janaza of the victims, who died in the BNP-led 20-party alliance’s violence and petrol bomb attacks, was held across the country on Friday.
In Dhaka, the gayebana janaza was held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after Jumma prayers.
Scores of people, including leaders and activists of the ruling Awami League and its political allies. attended the janaza held
after Jumma prayers seeking eternal peace of the departed souls.
Senior Awami League leaders, including AL presidium member Mohammad Nasim, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, Relief and Disaster Management Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya and Food Minister Qamrul Islam, attended the janaza.
At least 38 people, most of them are innocents and non political, have died in the violence that started on January 5 on the occasion of the first anniversary of general election.
AL Presidium Member Mohammad Nasim, spokesman of the 14-party outlined the programme on Wednesday.
