A portion Link Road adjacent to Green Road near Jahanara Garden in the city was collapsed exposing a rupture in the gas pipe line around 6:30am on Monday.
Fire Service Control Room Officer-in-Charge Ataur Rahman said, “The road collapsed due to pressure from sewage water, and leakage from a gas pipe line was also visible.”
“One of our units is on the spot. Repair works are being conducted on the pipeline,” he said.
No one was injured in the incident, said the fire service official.
An emergency team from Titas Gas was also dispatched to the spot as soon as they received the news of the leakage, said Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited Emergency Team Official Selim Miah.
