Gafargaon police conducted an operation to remove construction materials along the busiest road in Gafargaon Municipal Town of Mymensingh.
The operation was led by Mohammad Farooq Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge, Gafargaon Police Station on Wednesday afternoon.
Sources added that the owners of the houses in the market area of Khan Bahadur Ismail Road and Gafargaon to Bhalukar are in possession of almost half of the buildings under construction with construction materials. Traffic jams occur on the busy roads of the city. The city dwellers have been suffering a lot. Problems are created in the movement of pedestrians. Accidents often happen. Municipal authorities have already launched a campaign to evict illegal footpath installations.
Gafargaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Farooq Ahmed said, “We will continue our drive to build a congestion-free municipal town. Initially, the building owners have been alerted.”
