Police in a drive arrested a fugitive condemned convict from Amirabad area in Keraniganj on Sunday.The arrestee was identified as Omes Korati, 30, a resident of Atasur area in Keraniganj upazila.
Tipped off, a team of Keraniganj Model Police Station launched a drive in the area around 11am and arrested him, said police. Omes went into hiding after he chopped his paternal uncle Wajiz Korati to death on April 4, 2012.
Later, a case had been filed against him on the same day. The Session’s Judge Court of Dhaka sentenced Omes Korati to death in July this year.
