Economic Reporter :
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Thursday said Bangladesh and Tunisia could increase bilateral trade volume through signing a free trade agreement (FTA).
The minister passed the remarks while the non-resident Tunisian Ambassador to Bangladesh Adel Elarbi, who is stationed in Islamabad, made a courtesy call on him at his ministry office on Thursday.
Tofail told him Bangladesh wants to increase export of RMG, pharmaceuticals, ceramics and paper to Tunisia for good demand of those products in the country.
Besides, exchange of business delegations could help expand bilateral trade between the two countries, he added.
The commerce minister urged the private sectors of Bangladesh and Tunisia to move forward for expanding bilateral trade.
Bangladesh exported products of US$ 4.28 million to Tunisia last year against import of US$ 128.40 million.
