A court here yesterday sentenced four persons to death and two others to life imprisonment for killing a man at Chaldanga village under Amtoli upazila of the district in 2012.
Additional district and session judge M Abu Taher pronounced the verdict in presence of the convicts. The convicts to face death are Shahid Choukider, Abdul Barek, M Basir and Muazzem Hossain. The other convicts are Abdur Rab and M Mojibur. All are from Amtoli upazila of the district.The prosecution story, in brief, is that the convicts killed one Naya Miah Faraji, 55, over a disputed land on April 2012.
After the incident, victim’s son Nasir Uddin filed a murder case with Amtoli Thana against six persons.

Police after investigation of the case submitted charge-sheet to the court against them.
The judge examining the witnesses and evidences found them guilty of murder and announced the judgment.
