Four Bangladeshis among 65 migrants held in KL

Malaysia police detained 65 illegal migrants, including four Bangladeshis, in a crackdown in Ops Sapu of Kluang on Friday.
Johor Immigration Department, in association with Batu Pahat and Kluang immigrations, conducted the crackdown at at a workers’ quarters in Bukit Cantik oil palm plantation in Kahang around 2:30am.
Johor police deputy-assistant director Rashidin Rahmat, who chief of the operation, said of the detainees, four from Bangladesh, one from Nepal while 54 others from Indonesia, aged between 49 and 62 years.
He said the illegal migrants were investigated under immigration Act 1963.
The migrants were asleep after whole day’s hard work when police conducted the crackdown. Though they were too tired, many of them tried to escape detention.
The detainees have been kept at Setia Tropika Immigration Office, Rashdin Rahmat added.
