Mosharraf Hossain, a former BNP MP and an adviser of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, died on Monday at the age of 75. He died at the United Hospital
in the city in the evening. Mosharraf Hossain, who was also a former president of BAIRA, had been suffering from various physical complications, including heart disease and he was under the treatment in the United Hospital from last couple of days, said family sources.
He left behind his wife, three daughters, relatives and a host of friends and well wishers to mourn his death.
Mosharraf Hossain was elected MP from Feni-3 constituency (Dagonbhuiyan-Sonagazi) in 1991, 2001 and 2008. He also served as minister of CHT affairs ministry, information and labour ministries. His was the son of late Advocate Belayet Hossain of village Ahmadpur of Nababpur union under Sonagazi upazila of Feni.
Immediate after the news of death, Khaleda Zia visited the United Hospital to pay her last respect to the party leader.
The BNP chief also expressed deep shock at the death of her adviser. In a shock message, she prayed for salvation of the departed soul of Mosharraf Hossain. She also conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members. BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir also expressed deeo shock at the death the leader.
Dhaka-based Feni Journalists’ Association also expressed deep shock at the death of the BNP leader and the businessman.
