Fish Diagnostic Laboratory at SAU

A state-of-the-art laboratory for diagnosing fish has been inaugurated in the Faculty of Fisheries, Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU).
The laboratory named ‘Fish Disease Diagnosis and Pharmacology Lab’ has been inaugurated under the supervision of Associate Professor of Fisheries Health Management Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, according to the Public Relations and Publications Department of the University.
The laboratory was inaugurated on Thursday by Vice Chancellor Prof. Md. Matiar Rahman Hawladar.
Deans, Directors (Student Counseling and Guidance), Proctors, Teachers of different departments, Scientists, Student Researchers were present.
The Vice Chancellor initially released the fish fry and then toured the various equipments of the laboratory. Some important equipment’s including refrigerated seaker incubator, autoclave machine, laminar air flow, clinical chemistry analyzer, hot air oven, compound microscope are housed in this laboratory.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Md. Matiar Rahman Hawlader said the laboratory could be used for various important studies, which will contribute to increasing fish production in Bangladesh as well as meeting the country’s meat demand.
