Fertilizer distributed in Gafargaon

The Upazila Agriculture Office has distributed free fertilizers and seeds among about 3,500 farmers of Gafargaon in Mymensingh. The seeds were distributed among farmers, marginal farmers and crop sharing farmers at the PP warehouse in the upazila on Thursday. Mymensingh District Farm House Additional Deputy Director inaugurated the distribution of seeds and fertilizers under the chairmanship of Upazila Agriculture Officer Anwar Hossain. Umm Habiba. According to the Upazila Agriculture Office, wheat, maize, mustard, sunflower seeds 26,500 kg and 6,500 kg fertilizer were distributed among 3,330 farmers in 1 municipality and 15 unions free of cost. Each farmer has been given 20 kg of wheat, 2 kg of maize, 1 kg of mustard, 1 kg of sunflower, 10 kg of groundnut and 10 kg of DAP fertilizer and 10 kg of MOP fertilizer. Mymensingh District Farm House Deputy Director Md. Nasir Uddin said the country’s food crisis has been resolved due to the government’s special vigilance in the agricultural sector. The government is taking various steps to reduce the import of edible oil from abroad. We are only implementing those steps through proper monitoring at the field level. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Tajul Islam said that the farmers will be more motivated to produce such crops as seeds and fertilizers are distributed among the farmers free of cost. He further said that free fertilizers and seeds have been distributed among the small and marginal farmers to ensure that no land falls between Aman and Boro. At the direction of the Prime Minister, we are working at the field level to meet the demand for edible oil without leaving 1 inch of land fallow.
