A female quarry worker was found dead in the Surma River in Wagekhali area of Sunamganj municipality on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Shabana Begum, 25, wife of Azizur Rahman, a resident of Rubber Bari village of Laxmanshri union of the upazila, according to a news agency report.
Locals spotted her body in the river around 3:00pm and informed police. Later a team of police went to the spot and recovered the body with the help of locals.
The body was sent to Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.. Md Harun-ur Rashid Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of the police station, said Shabana went missing as a stone-laden boat capsized in the river on October 12.
