The Aarong Dairy Federation Cup Women Kabaddi Tournament begins on September 13 at the Kabaddi Stadium.
Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation will organize the kabaddi competition under auspices of BRAC Dairy & Food Project.
To mark the forthcoming kabaddi competition, a press conference was held at the Dutch-Bangla Bank Auditorium of Bangladesh Olympic Association Bhaban on Thursday. Vice-President of Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation and Chairman of the Tournament Committee Md Nizam Uddin Chowdhury Parvez, National Sales Manager of BRAC Dairy & Food Project Md Saiful Huda, Member Secretary of the Tournament Committee Md Monir Hossain were present at the conference, among others.
The budget of the tournament has been estimated at Tk 4,50,000 while BRAC Dairy & Food Project, the sponsor of the meet will bear total expenditure.
A total of six teams splitting into two groups will take part in the kabaddi tournament.
Dhaka Wanderers Club, Narail District Sports Association, Dhaka District Sports Association have been billed in Group A while Institute of Kabaddi, Azad Sporting Club, Faridpur District Sports Association have been placed in Group B.
Top two teams from each group will move into the semi-finals.
The winners of the semi-finals will face each other in the final on September17.
The champions will be awarded Tk 20,000 while the runners-up will be given Tk 10,000 as prize-money.
