A farmer was killed and four others of the family were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers at Amli Chukai West Para under Gabtoli Upazila in Bogra district on Friday morning over land dispute.
The deceased was identified as Siddiqur Rahman, 50, son of late Wahed Ali of the village.
Police quoting the family members said, an altercation was going on over supervising of 20 declaims of land for long time with Siddiqur Rahman and ABdur Rahman. Siddiqur Rahman came to the disputed land to prepare Boro paddy field on Friday morning.
On information, Abdur Rahman and his associates also visited the land and tried to stop cultivation . At one stage, they locked in an altercation with Siddiqur Rahman leaving killing him on the spot and four others were hurt in the clash.
The injured people were rushed to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
On information a police team rushed to the spot and recovered the body and sent it to the Hospital morgue for autopsy.
A case was lodged with the police station in this connection and police detained Mrs. Goal Nahar Begum, wife if Salim Uddin from the spot .
