BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir left Dhaka on Thursday night for Singapore for medical treatment.
Accompanied by his wife, he left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Singapore by a Singapore Airlines at 11:55pm, BNP Chairperson’s Media Wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan told The New Nation on Friday.
He said, Fakhrul will undergo treatment in a Singapore hospital for various health complexities, including blockage in the nerve of his neck.
After receiving treatment there, the BNP Secretary General will go to Australia to attend a meeting of Asia Pacific Democrat Union (APDU).
Earlier in March this year, Fakhrul was elected one of the three Vice-Chairmen of the APDU as the Organisation gave BNP its full membership.
Sayrul Kabir said, the BNP SG Fakhrul is likely to return home from Australia in mid October.
