UNB, Dhaka :
Defending his party chairperson’s demand for disbanding RAB, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday branded it as a killer force that could be hired.
“RAB is now killer force that could be hired. They are claiming people’s lives instead of giving them security. So, there’s no need for keeping this force. So our Chairperson’s demand for disbanding RAB is justified and timely one.” he said.
He came up with the remarks while addressing a programme at the Jatiya Press Club arranged by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) protesting the relocation of trial of Khaleda’s graft cases to a makeshift court at Dhaka Alia Madrasah ground.
Referring to the Narayanganj seven murders, Fakhrul said it is not only Rab responsible for the incident, but the government and the Prime Minister will also have to shoulder the responsibility for the murders as they failed to control RAB.
About relocation Khaleda’s trial, the BNP spokesman said the government has shifted the trial of the case to a place where trial of BDR mutineers was held in a bid to leave Khaleda Zia out of politics.
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Sunday night demanded that the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) be disbanded as the government is using the elite force in its political purposes.
