Fahmida Nabi to perform in London

Popular Bangladeshi singer Fahmida Nabi will perform in London Betar Bangla on March 19.
Betar Bangla, the first radio station to serve the Bangladeshi community in the UK is organising a musical night to mark its six founding anniversary.
Fahmida Nabi will be appeared on the stage with her popular songs at 9:00pm at Royal Regency Banqueting Hall in London on Sunday.
While talking about her upcoming visit to London Fahmida Nabi told this correspondent, “I am very happy to say that I am going to London in my first foreign tour in this year. London is my best visiting place I always seeking opportunity to go to London, my younger sister Antora also live in London. I am grateful to Betar Bangla authority for give me such opportunity to perform in London. After performing on Sunday I will stay in London for some days and I will come back in Dhaka on April 2.”
Fahmida Nabi, the daughter of late singer Mahmudun Nabi started her solo career in 1979 and has spanned over three decades. She sings primarily classical and modern Bengali songs. Besides that, she sings Rabindra Sangeet and Nazrul Sangeet. Her first album was Tumi Tulonahina.
On 15 January 2011, she released a solo album which features 10 songs written and tuned by Dr Selim Al Deen. Her first duet album entitled Ek Mutho Gaan-1 (released in 2006) was recorded with Bappa Mazumder.
Fahmida Nabi and Bappa Majumder’s second studio album Ek Mutho Gaan-2 was released on the Valentine’s Day in 2010. Fahmida Nabi’s Rabindra Sangeet album titled Aamar Bela Je Jai was a classic hit. Ek Akasher Gaan, the first duet album of Fahmida Nabi and Her sister Samina Chowdhuri, will be release very soon under the banner of Leser Vision.
Fahmida Nabi was born on January 4 in 1966. She is the daughter of late singer, Mahmudun Nabi. Fahmida Nabi won the National Film Award as the Best Female Playback Singer in 2007 for her song Lukochuri lukochuri Golpo in movie Aha.
