Expatriate Welfare Minister distributes relief in Sylhet

Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Imran Ahmed has distributed housing materials and relief to flood victims at Gowainghat Upazila in Sylhet.
On Thursday morning, he visited the flood victims’ homes at Gowainghat in Sylhet and distributed housing money and relief among the victims.
Responding to a question from reporters at the time, the minister said that 1 million workers had been sent abroad after the coronation, while Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Imran Ahmed said remittance inflows would increase in the current financial year.
Imran Ahmed said a record one million workers were sent abroad last year. He also said that the remittance flow will increase in the next financial year.
At the time, the minister further said, about 5 lakh expatriate workers returned from abroad due to corona last year; Of these, four and a half lakh workers have returned to work.
