Ex-DUCSU VP Nur sued under 3 DSA cases

Former DUCSU VP Nurul Haque Nur was sued in three case till now for ‘hurting religious sentiments’ of Awami League activists and supporters and defaming the party with his derogatory comments.
Of the three cases two were filed in Dhaka while the remaining case was filed in Sylhet for the same allegation under the Digital Security Act.
One Elias Hossain filed a case with Paltan Police Station in the capital on Sunday night under the Digital Security Act for Nur’s comments during a Facebook live session on April 14, Abu Bakar Siddique, Officer-in-Charge of the police Station, told the media people. The complainant is a member of the ruling Awami League, he added.
Besides, last evening, Barrister Ashraful Islam Shojib, member of Jubo League Central Committee, filed a case against Nur under the Digital Security Act with Shahbagh Police Station.
Citing case statement, police said Nur spoke on Facebook live on April 14 and hurt religious sentiments of Awami League activists and supporters, calling them “fake Muslims”.
Meanwhile, former DUCSU VP Nur was sued in another case under the Digital Security Act in Sylhet for the same allegation. Kishor Jahan Sourav, a former Chhatra League leader of Sylhet City unit filed this case with Kotwali Police Station of the district last afternoon, said SM Abu Farhad, Officer-in-Charge of the police station. Therefore, Nur has to face three cases till now under the Digital Security Act for the same allegation.
