Probe report submission: Ex-DUCSU VP Nur, others deferred

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday again deferred the date of submitting a against former Vice-President of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Nurul Haque Nuru, 25, and five others in a case lodged on charge of rape and abduction, and offence under Digital Security Act.

In the case, Hasan Al Mamun, 28, has been accused of rape. The new date for submission of the report is January 7.
Magistrate Nivana Khaer Jesi of the CMM Court fixed the date as Investigation Officer Md Wahiduzzaman of the case could not submit the report on Thursday. A Dhaka University student, the victim of the case filed the case with Kotowali Police Station of the city on September 22.
Besides, the girl filed another case against the same accused with Lalbagh Police Station. In this case Najmul Hasan Sohag, 28, has been made accused for rape while five others have been made accused on different charges. Sohag is a joint convener of Bangladesh Chhatra Adhikar Parishad.
Other three accused people are- Md Saiful Islam, 28, joint convener and Najmul Huda, 25, of the same organisation. The other accused Abdullahil Baki, 23, a student of Dhaka University. Of the accused Sohag, Saiful and Najmul are in the jail.
