A Saudi expatriate younger brother killed his Malaysia expatriate elder brother by beating in feud over paternal property at Vurghata area under Gournadi Upazila of Barisal on Thursday morning.
The victim was identified as Badal Akon, 35, Saudi expatriate and alleged killer was his elder brother Nazrul Islam, 38, Malaysia expatriate.
Abdur Rob Haoladar, additional superintendent of police in charge of Gournadi circle, visiting the spot said police recovering the dead body sent to Barisal SBMCH morgue for autopsy.
Monirul Islam, OC , Gournadi police station, quoting witnesses and family sources, said sons of Golam Ali Akon were engaged in family feud over paternal properties after his death. One month ago Nazrul coming from Malaysia, broken the cottage of hen and cocks (Murgir Khop) of younger brother Badal Akon.
Saudi expatriate Badal coming home on April 18, asked Nazrul to repair the damaged cottage of hen and cocks, but Nazrul denied to do so and both sides engaged in feud over partition of paternal properties.
Over these issues they engaged in altercation at about 9 AM Thursday and during that Badal became fainted by boxing and beating of Nazrul and his wife Rehana Begum.
Then others brought Badal to Gournadi upazila health complex and Dr. Abdullah Al Mamun, medical officer on duty declaring Badal as dead told cause of death could be ascertained after autopsy.
Police recovering the dead body said the body has minor beating on hand and bleeding signs from ear. The dead body sent to Barisal SBMCH morgue for postmortem. Alleged killer Nazrul and his wife Rehana fled from the area. Iti Akhtar, a primary school teacher and wife of dead Badal preparing to lodge a murder case, police sources added.
