Internationally renowned photojournalist Pavel Rahman, who received the Ekushey Padak, was received in Rangpur. The Rangpur Literary, Cultural and Drama Organization gave a reception to this child of Rangpur on Saturday evening at the Public Library ground.
The national anthem was performed at the beginning of the ceremony. After a minute of silence in memory of the language martyrs, mass music, recitation, dance and sentiments were expressed.
On behalf of the organizers, Pavel Rahman was given a reception crest and certificate. At the reception, Pavel Rahman spoke on various aspects including his photojournalism, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family and the 90th mass movement.
“Today I am proud that I am being welcomed in my own area,” he said. I am grateful to all of you for this. In the life of photojournalism, I have tried to bring out the stories of people’s emotions, feelings, life-nature. In the opportunity to work at home and abroad, I have tried to bring the real form in harmony with nature. Speakers at the time said that during and after the liberation war, including the anti-authoritarian movement, Pavel Rahman, the son of Rangpur, did photojournalism with courage.

Being unique in the world of photography, he received the February commemorative ‘Ekushey Padak’.
Speakers said that he has gained fame by taking rare pictures of Bangabandhu.
He has taken all the unique pictures of different periods of the country He has worked in all the famous newspapers and news agencies of the country and abroad. Pavel Rahman is currently working on an exhibition of photographs and a ‘Mujib Corner’ based on the life of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation.
