Eight more killed in road crashes

At least eight more persons were killed and several others injured in separate road crashes across the country on Saturday.
In Savar, at least three persons including wife of a Footballer and her son were killed in separate road crashes in Ashulia and Savar area on Saturday. Police recovered the bodies from the spots.
The deceased were identified as Afrin Akter, Abdullah and Mahela Khatun.
At Ashulia, Afrin and her 5-year-old son Abdullah died when a truck rammed the bike on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Nayarhat area of Ashulia at noon.
Afrin’s husband, who was driving the motorcycle, was also seriously injured.
Emdadul Huq, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Ashulia Police Station confirmed the matter to media.
At Savar, a bus of Etihas Paribahan crushed one Mahela Khatun, 55, to death in Mojidpur area.
Dipankar, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Savar Model Police Station told the news media.
In Habiganj, a person was killed and 30 others were seriously injured in a road accident when a bus rammed him in Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway. The accident occured at Sadarghat’s New Market area of the Upazila around 9am.
Kawahar Mahmud Toron, Officer In-charge (OC) of Nabiganj’s Gopal Bazar Police Investigation center confirmed the news to media.
In Kishoreganj, a woman named Hira Aktar (25) was killed when a bus rammed her in Kishoreganj. The accident occured at Chowddashat area on the Kishoreganj-Bhairab Highway on Saturday.
Hira was the wife of Abu Hanif of Betal village.
Ahsan Habib, Office in Charge (OC) of Kishoreganj Model Police Station (Investigation) told the matter to media.

In Chattogram, a person named Ratan Mallick (48) was killed in a road accident when a bus hit an auto-rickshaw in Hathazari. The incident took place at Baradighir par area of the upazila on Saturday around 11am.

In Magura, a motorcyclist named Rony (25) was killed and co-rider named Dipto was injured in a road accident in Magura.
The accident occurred when a passenger bus hit the bike at Sheikhpara on the Magura-Jashore Highway on Saturday noon. The deceased Rony was the son of one Idris Ali of Palbari area of Jessore city.
Officer-in-Charge of Magura Sadar Police Station Sirajul Islam confirmed the news to media.
In Satkhira, a farmer named Gouro Chandra Ghosh (55)was killed when a Nichimon overturned in Satkhira.
The accident took place in front of a shop of one Salahuddin at Jathuya village under Tala upazila on Saturday morning.
Gouro Chandra Ghosh was the son of Nitai Chandra Ghosh of Jituya Ghoshpara village.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tala Police Station Rasel Mehdi told the news to media.
