BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday said that the Election Commission and the government are destabilising the country and the democracy.
“The subservient EC and the government are destabilising the country. Awami League is part of conspiracy. They (AL) are working together to keep the BNP away from polls. But we are not leaving the polls race,” said Mirza Fakhrul Islam at a public rally on the Redwan Ahmad Degree College premises in Chandina, Cumilla in support of Jatiya Oikyafront candidates Kazi Mujibul Haq of Cumilla-3 and Redwan Ahmad of Cumilla-7.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “We need to decide whether we will live under a autocratic government or under a democratic government. The ensuing election will determine it.”
The BNP Secretary General called upon the voters to ensure the victory of ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ through a vote revolution on December 30.
He also asked the voters to cast their votes for Sheaf of Paddy in order to restore democracy making the Jatiya Oikyafront candidates winners in the polls.
He said it at a roadside rally in Daudkandi on his way to Chandina and Suagazi to join election campaign in favour of the JOF candidates.
“Cast your votes for the Sheaf of Paddy to restore democracy in the country and let justice smile on Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman,” Mirza Fakhrul said. The BNP leader made a urgent call to the voters to go to polling stations ignoring all obstructions and intimidations to ensure victory of Sheaf of Paddy.
Mirza Fakhrul asked the voters to use ballots for Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, the BNP Standing Committee Member and the party’s candidate at Cumilla-1 and Cumilla-2 Constituencies to ensure his victory.
