A Barisal court on Sunday sentenced each of eight accused to ten-year imprisonment for killing a youth over senior-junior conflict.
Adib Ali, 1st Additional District and Session Judge of Barisal examining 14 witnesses and other evidences handed down this verdict in presence of the accused.
The court also fined Tk. 10 thousand against each of the 8 convicted accused or to suffer 6-month more imprisonment in default.
The eight convicted accused were named as Yusuf Ali, Abbas Hossain, Shamim Ahmed, Md. Rajib, Sajib, Abdus Salam, Razu and Riaz Hossain.
Court sources said all of the accused were residents of Puran Koylaghat and Palashpur slum areas.
On November 29, 2002, they mercilessly beat Md. Tushar, a local youth, in conflict over senior-junior clash.
