Dhaka University (DU) authority has chalked out a series of programmes to observe the 98th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day today (March 17) in a befitting manner. As part of the programmes, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Treasurer, Senate and syndicate members, deans, provosts, proctors, chairpersons of departments, directors of institutes and office heads led by DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman will place wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in the morning. A discussion will be held at Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) auditorium in the morning with VC in the chair.
The theme of the discussion is “Bangabandhu’s Birthday: Colour Spreading Lamps, Children will Remain Well in Red-Green Bangladesh” Special prayers will be held at all masques and ‘upasanalaya’ on the campus and sweets will be distributed among students.
Apart from this, a cultural programme will be held at TSC auditorium at 6:30 pm organised by Department of Music. The Faculty of Fine Arts will arrange an art competition at TSC cafeteria on the day from 10 am to 12 noon.
