The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) recovered fake and sub-standard drug worth around Tk 50 lakh from a pharmacy in the city’s Mohammadpur area on Tuesday afternoon.
They also arrested the owner of the factory Shahid Parvej, 40, son of Shawkat Ali, a resident of Basila Garden city, Mohammadpur of the capital.
The owner of the go Pharma was fined Tk 2,00,000 and in default three months jail.
Anisur Rahman, Executive Magistrate of a mobile court of the elite force pronounced the sentence.
Lieutenant Commander Sazzadf Raihan, Deputy Director of RAB-2 claimed that the arrested man used to cheat people buy selling the fake and sub-standard drug.
They raided in the area and recovered the drugs, the RAB official said.
The pharmacy has also been sealed, he added.
