DPHE implementing 6 projects to end water crisis

District Public Health Engineering (DPHE) is implementing six development projects to end water crisis at three upazilas and three municipalities of the district.
Executive Engineer of DPHE M Soharab Hossain disclosed it in a discussion meeting held at Khagrachhari Adhunik Sadar Hospital auditorium on Wednesday..
DPHE boss said, they have been implementing six projects at a cost of Tk 3,467 lakh in the district and hoped to end the work by 31st June this month.
Among these Tk 954.04 lakh project is being implemented at Khagrachhari, Ramgorh and Matiranga municipalities in the district while Tk 133 lakh water project is going on at 126 primary schools and Tk 159 lakh wash block project is under implementation in the district.
DPHE also has a plan to implement Tk 725 lakh tube well projects at 8 upazilas, Tk 746 lakh treatment plant pipeline projects at Manikchhari, Mohalchhari and Panchhari upazilas, Tk 550 lakh tubes well setting up project in the whole district and an additional Tk 200 lakh project to set up 220 tube wells in the district.
At least three lakh people under nine upazilas in the district would be benefited if DPHE is successfully able to complete the development work by shortest possible time, confirmed DPHE Executive Engineer Md Soharab Hossain.
Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Tanveer Ahmed Chowdhury, DPHE Engineer Ashraful Islam and constructor Shahabuddin Sarkar spoke among others.
