Chattogram Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mominur Rahman said that those who destroy communal harmony in peaceful Chattogram will not be exempted.
He said this at a social harmony rally aimed at countering religious extremism, militancy, violence and terrorism by promoting religious and social ties in a non-communal spirit at the city’s 16th LGED auditorium around 12 noon on Tuesday. The Deputy Commissioner said that strict action will be taken against those who destroy communal harmony. Bangladesh is a state of harmony of Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists and Christians. Communal harmony must continue in this Bangladesh.
Mominur Rahman said, “A hatred game of destruction started in Bangladesh last year on the occasion of the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence, centered on the visit of Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. In the continuation of this during the last Durga Puja, an incident in the Puja Mandap in Cumilla was circulated through social media. Several Puja Mandaps were attacked and vandalized in Chattogram as well. Whenever we saw such an incident, we quickly appeared there.”
