A man was killed by his rival groups at Digdair village in Tarail upazila of Kishoreganj early Sunday over ownership dispute of waterbody and supremacy.
The victim was identified as Junaid Miah (28) son of Sadat Ali in Digdair village of Tarail upazila.
Officer-in charge (OC) in Tarail Joynal Abedin said, received on information Police rushed to spot and dead body was recovered from Sajla Beel. Signs of multiple gunshot wounds were found on victim’s body. The body was sent to Kishoreganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Police have been deployed in the area since the incident. Later, disputes between several local groups over the water bodies in Tarail upazila have been going on for a long time. As a result of this dispute, at least 9 people have been killed in attacks and clashes in the last 12 years.
