Differently able student gets CZM help

Center for Zakat Management (CZM) has donated a motorized wheelchair to a physically retarded student, aged 20, suffering from Cerebral Pulsy (C.P.) disease on Thursday at his residence.
A laptop and a printer were also provided to support his self-employment. Khondoker Zakaria Ahmed, DGM of CZM handed over the equipment while Mohammad Shoaib, MD of Standard Cartoons Ltd was also present.
Syed Ali Javed, the beneficiary, has been suffering from CP since his early childhood that barred him to move his legs and left wrist. However, with determination and confidence, he has overcome the difficulties and passed his SSC and HSC successfully.
He also got training on computer and office software operation from CRP at Savar. Center for Zakat Management, an organization engaged in Zakat based poverty alleviation activities, came forward to support Javed for his smooth movement and self-employment.
Since establishment in 2008, CZM has been supporting the poor under its different comprehensive programs. Its different activities include livelihood development and income generation programs, scholarship programs for the undergraduate students, pre-primary education and nutrition program, health care service program and emergency humanitarian assistance program.
