Ashulia Bank robbery: Depositions of complainant recorded

A Dhaka Court on Monday recorded the depositions of the complainant in the Ashulia bank robbery case.
Later, Judge SM Quddus Zaman of the District and Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka fixed February 8 to record the depositions of other witnesses in the case.
Earlier, on January 21, the court framed charges against 11 people in the case. Nine persons died in the incident.
On April 21, last year, armed miscreants raided Ashulia branch of Commerce Bank Limited at Kathghora of Ashulia industrial area, killing nine people. More than 20 people sustained bullet and splinter injuries in the incident. While escaping, the robbers fired and burst bombs.
One of the robbers was lynched and other two were handed over to the police by local people. Accused Jasimuddin is believed to be one of the members of the gang who managed to flee the spot. The miscreants left behind more than Taka six lakh looted from the bank.
Other ten accused people are: Borhanuddin, Saiful Alam Moni, Babul Sardar, Mintu Pradhan, Abdul Baten, Mozammel Haque, Ukil Hasan, Saiful Islam, Shahjahan Jamadar and Palash alias Sohel Rana.
