The highest allocation has been given to the defence sector with Tk40,360 crore for 2022-23 fiscal years, while Tk 24,594 allocated for Public Security.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has placed the proposed budget for 2022-23 fiscal years at Jatiya Sangsad (JS) on Thursday.
However, Tk37,533crore was allocated in the last fiscal years, while 20-21FY was Tk 33,916 crore in Defence sector.
Tk1, 421 crore more was proposed in FY 2021-22 than the FY 2020-21 for Public Security sector. The budget for the fiscal year 2020-21 was Tk 21,659 crore.
Tk 1,514 crore more has been proposed for 2022-23 fiscal years than the
last financial year.
Police, Border Guard, Coast Guard and Ansar and Village Defense Forces are under the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Besides, there is also the security services department under the Public Security Division too.
However, the army, navy and air force are under the Defence sector.
