The High Court on Monday dismissed a case filed against former justice AHM Shamsuddin Choudhury Manik for defaming former Chief Justice SK Sinha through his contemptuous comments during a television talk-show on march 15.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrates Justice AKM Main Uddin Siddique dismissed the case due to absence of necessary steps by the plaintiff. Earlier on March 29, ex-president of Dhaka Metropolitan Bar Association
lawyer Arfanuddin Khan filed the case against Justice Manik for his comment in a TV talk-show that ‘SK Sinha was member of the infamous Shanti Committee in 1971’. Such comment defamed the apex court of the country, the case statement said.
