Today is the 44th death anniversary of Shaheed Lt Abu Moyeen Muhammad Ashfaqus Samad Bir Uttam. He embraced martyrdom in a battle against the occupying Pakistani forces at Bhurungamari in Kurigram during the War of Liberation on this day in 1971. Local people renamed the area where he was killed as Samad Nagar.
A Doa Mahfil will be held at Bhurungamari at his grave today. Friends, relatives, well-wishers & freedom fighters are rquested to attend the Doa Mahfil and pray for the salvation of the departed soul.
