The 10th death anniversary of playwright Selim Al Deen was observed on Sunday on Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus in a befitting manner.
Marking the day, JU Drama and Dramatics Department has taken up elaborate programmes.
JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam accompanied with Treasurer Professor Sheikh Monjurul Huq and Registrar Abu Bakar Siddique placed a wreath at the grave of Selim Al Deen in the morning. Later, JU Drama and Dramatics Department, Bangadesh Gram Theatre, Dhaka Theatre, Selim Al Deen Foundation, Taluknagar Theatre, Shawapnadal Dhaka, Combine Cultural Alliance, Jahangirnagar Theatre, Puppent Theatre Research Centre, Teacher and Student Centre (TSC), Kalma Theatre, Shaheed Titu Theatre and Selim Al Deen Memorial Society placed wreaths at his grave. Earlier, a memorial procession was brought out from the Drama and Dramatics Department that paraded different streets on the campus. The daylong events include discussion and staging drama was held at Selim Al Deen Muktamancha.
