A Dhaka Court yesterday put Sub-Inspector Rashedul Alam of the Detective Branch of police on a two-day remand on charge of robbery.
Magistrate Ashek Imam of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order after hearing on Monday.
Earlier, Wari Police Station SI Harun-or-Rashid produced the accused before the court seeking seven days’ remand.
According to the case statement, on December 5, last year, victim Shafiul Alam Azad was heading towards Madaripur with Tk 5.5 lakh when a group of unidentified persons
abducted Shafiul Alam using a microbus and looted his money.
Later, Shafiul Alam filed a robbery case with Wari police station on December 18. During investigation, the name of Rashedul Alam was learnt.
