A section of the Supreme Court’s lawyers on Thursday condemned the ‘illegal searching’ of the city residence of Barrister Kayser Kamal, a Supreme Court lawyer and Legal Affairs Secretary of BNP by the DB police.
The lawyers of “Democracy and Khaleda Zia Release Lawyers’ Movement” sent a written statement in this regard yesterday.
Organization’s President Advocate Abed Raza, its Secretary Advocate A B M Rafiqul Haq Talukder Raza, Advocate Taimur Alam Khandker, Advocate A B M Waliur Rahmna Khan, Advocate Monir Hossain, Advocate Shahjada Miah, Advocate Rabiul Karim, Dr Arifa Jesmine Nahin, Advocate Ayub Ali Ashrafee, Advocate Abdus Sattar and Advocate Anjuman Ara, among others, signed the statement.
They said in the statement, “Barrister Kayser Kamal is an eminent and popular lawyer of the Supreme Court. He is holding an important post in the BNP. He is on bail in the cases filed against him. Yet the law enforcers’ searched his house and harassed him. We think the law enforcers will respect the dignity of the lawyers.”
Sources said, DB police searched Barrister Kayser Kamal’s residence at Eskaton on Wednesday night without any legal procedure.
