Civil Surgeon’s Office has staged a protest at the Nilphamari Modern Sadar Hospital demanding trial of those involved in the application of expired saline.
The first demonstration was held on Sunday afternoon at the hospital premises. Then the civil surgeon’s office surrounded the patient’s relatives and local people.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Ranjit Kumar Barman spoke to the relatives of the patient at the scene, and the angry people returned after taking control of the situation.
A three-member committee has been formed to investigate the matter. The inquiry committee has been asked to submit the report within the next three days.

It is to be noted that on Saturday night, the hospital authorities applied expired sodium chloride saline to some patients in the women’s ward of Nilphamari Modern Sadar Hospital. The relatives of the patient burst into protest after the incident.
