Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi contributed to the rise of Bangladesh-India Friendship Association after Bangladesh’s independence.
This association works for broadening social, cultural and economic ties between these two countries. Recently Professor Dr. Shirin Akhter, Pro Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University, informational technologist Dr. Faysal Kamal Chowdhury and author AFM Modasser Ali have been made members of the Chittagong divisional committee of Bangla-desh-India Friendship Association.
The new executive council of the association consisting of twenty five members was introduced in Chittagong recently at a restaurant in the city. The new advisory council of the association includes CCC Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin as chief adviser, Hindus-Buddhists-Christians Unity Council’s President Advocate Rana Dash Gupta and Professor Syed Ahsanul Alam as advisers.
