Ten men Chittagong Abahani Limited recorded their second victory in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League football when they beat new comers Swadhinata Krira Sangha by 2-1 goals was held on Saturday at Muktijoddha Smrity Stadium in Rajshahi.
With the day’s victory, the port city team Chittagong Abahani Limited raised their tally to eight points from four matches while Swadhinata Krira Sangha remained at their previous credit of four points playing the same number of matches.
In the day’s match, Nigerian forward Peter Ebimobowei and Afghan striker Omid Popalzay netted one goal each for Chittagong Abahani Limited in both halves while forward Jahedul Alam scored the lone goal for Swadhinata Krira Sangha. The winners’ led the first half by 1-0 goal.
Peter Ebimobowei opened the account scoring the first goal for Chittagong Abahani Limited in the 24th minute while after the breather Omid Popalzay doubled the lead scoring the second goal converting a spot kick in the 71st minute of the match.
Jahedul Alam reduced the margin scoring a lone goal for Swadhinata Krira Sangha in the 79th minute of the match.
Chittagong Abahani’s South African winger William Twala was shown red card by the referee in the 85th minute following his double yellow cards.
Chittagong Abahani Limited dominated the entire proceeding and notched their deserving victory on the day while Swadhinata Krira Sangha were off- colored, except the day’s lone goal.
