Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka yesterday took into cognizance the charge-sheet filed in an arms case lodged against Regent Group Chairman Md Shahed alias Shahed Karim.
Judge KM Imrul Qayes of the court passed the order and fixed August 27 for hearing on charge framing, Additional Public Prosecutor Tapash Kumar Paul told the media.
Investigation Officer (IO) and DB Inspector Md Shairul filed the charge-sheet with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Morshed Al Mamun Bhuiyan on July 30.

Later, Dhaka’s Metropolitan Magistrate Court on August 13 transferred the case to Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court for further proceedings.
RAB arrested Shahed from Debhata upazilla of Shatkhira on July 15 and quickly airlifted him in the capital in the morning.
Detective Branch of Police raided one of his Uttara dens on July 18 and recovered illegal arms and narcotics. They later filed the case with Uttara West Police Station of the city.
