UNB, Dhaka :
Bangladesh national cricket team suspended pace bowler Shahadat Hossain who is on bail in a case under the Women and Child Repression Prevention Act, has begged to be forgiven by the countrymen.
Shahadat called a press conference to express his apology at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Thursday. The suspended pacer said, “I’m regretful as I committed that unexpected incident and begging pardon to the nation. I also am begging pardon to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president, officials and
cricketers for my misdeeds. I agreed that I made that mistake, you know to err is human.”
“Rectifying my past error, I want to come back as your previous Shahadat,” he continued.
“I want to back on the ground in the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League for my survival,” Shahadat urged. “Cricket is all for me, I believe my country and still I have the ability to give service to country’s cricket,” he concluded.
On September 7, a journalist, Mojammel Hossain, filed the case against the couple Shahadat and his wife Nitto-with Mirpur Model Police Station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act-2000.
