With the slogan, ‘ Voter hoye vote debo, Desh gorai ansho nebo’ ( We shall cast our votes after becoming voters and participate into building the country), a colourful rally and discussion meeting was held in observance of National Voter Dayat Sylhet on Monday.
Sylhet District Administration and the District Election Office jointly organised the programme. The colourful rally holding banner and placards was taken out from in front of the office of Deputy Commissioner which paraded various streets of the town and ended for a meeting at the auditorium of Kobi Nazrul auditorium.
Presided over by M Kazi Amdadul Islam, Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Moshiur Rahman NDC as the chief guest. he said, vote was an important issue and a sacred deposit. Every one should cast their votes consciously for the development of the country.
DIG of Sylhet Kamrul Ahsan, SMP Commissioner Gulam Kibria, ASP Mahbubul Alam, CEO of Sylhet Zila Parishod Debojit Shingho, Deputy Police Commissioner Shuhel Reza. and Regional Election Officer SM Asaduzzaman attended the meeting as special guests while it was conducted by Sylhet District Cultural Officer Oshith Boron Das Gupto.
Staff Reporter, Kishoreganj says: Bangladesh Election Commission (EC) including Kishoreganj District Administration arranged a colourful rally, discussion and cultural function marking the National Voter Day aims at spreading awareness among the youth democracy election and voting wrights.
A discussion meeting was held at local Collectorate Conference Room on Monday morning.
DC Md. Sarowar Morshed Chowdhury was attended as Chief Guest while Distinct Election Officer Ashraful Alam in the chair.
It was addressed among others Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Abdullah-al-Mashud as special guest, Additional Police Super Masud Anower, Sadar UNO Md. Abdul Kadir Mia, District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal, CAB District Secretary Monour Hossein Rony and District Mohila Awami League General Secretary Bilkis Begum.
Later a colourfull rally was brought out in the town marking the day.
Gouripur(Mymensingh) Correspondent reports: The National Voters Day was observed in Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh in a befitting manner with a call to encourage the common people to cast votes for strengthening democracy on Monday morning .
Marking the day, 10 people including a transgender were given new National Identity (NID) cards aimed at ensuring their basic rights.
‘Cast vote after being voter, take part in building nation’ was the main theme of the day
Upazila Election Office and Upazila Administration jointly organised the programe as a part of the countrywide program. In this connection a colorful rally led by Sejuti Dhar, UNO of Gouripur upazila was brought out from UNO office premises and terminated at the same place after parading the main roads of the town.
Later a discussion meeting was held at Zora Amtala Chottar of Upazila Parishad where UNO of Gouripur upazila Sejuti Dhar presided over the function. Chairman of Gouripur Upazila Parishad Md. Mofazzal Hossain Khan, Upazila Election Officer Sajal Kumar Sarkar, Upazila Youth Development Officer Nandan Kumar Biswas, Upazila Education Officer Monika Parvin, Upazila Project Impliment Officer Sohel Rana Pappu, Upazila AL Senor President Dr. Helal Uddin Ahmed, Ex- Deputy Comander of Gouripur Muktijudda Sangsad Abdur Rahim spoke on the occasion and other prominent persons were present and addressed the audience by focusing on most important point of voting issue.
BSS from Gaibandha reports: The National Voters’ Day was observed in the district as elsewhere in the country on Monday with a call to encourage the common people to cast votes for giving democracy an institutional shape.
This year’s theme of the day is ‘Voter Hoyee Vote Dibo, Desh Goray Angsho Nibo’.
Marking the day, the district election office in cooperation with district administration chalked out elaborate programmes.
In the morning around 10 am, a grand rally led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) was brought out from the premises of District Collectorate Building here and ended at the same venue after parading the main roads of the town.
Later, a discussion meeting was also held at the conference room of the DC with district election officer (DEO) M Mahbubur Rahman in the chair.
DC Abdul Matin addressed the meeting as the chief guest and Superintendent of police (SP) Muhammad Towhidul Islam, Mayor of Gaibandha Municipality Advocate Shah Masud Zahangir Kabir Milon and Sadar Upazila Chairman Shah Sarwar Kabir spoke at the meeting as special guests.
At the discussion, speakers said exercising the voting of every citizen of the country is a constitutional right.
The observance of the day would create awareness among the people to exercise their voting rights, DC Abdul Matin said.

Deputy Director of Local Government Division Parvej Raihan, Additional Superintendent of Police Ifte Khayer Alam and Senior District Election Officer Saiful Islam also spoke.
Faridul Islam said the National Voters’ Day will make the young people aware about the voting rights to give democracy an institutional shape.
He laid emphasis on creating mass awareness among the people on voting rights through making the National Voters’ Day a success.
BSS from Rangpur adds: Officials at a post-rally discussion here on Monday stressed on creating awareness among voters about voting rights has become crucial to further strengthening the country’s democratic process.
They opined this at the discussion arranged by Rangpur Regional Office of the Election Commission with the assistance of the Divisional Commissioner’s Office in observance of the National Voters’ Day 2 March 2020 in the city.
Earlier, Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Md. Zakir Hossain inaugurated observance of the day by releasing festoon and balloons on Rangpur Regional Office of the Election Commission premises.
Deputy Inspector General for Rangpur Range Police Devdas Bhattacharya, Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) Commissioner Abdul Alim Mahmud and Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan were present on the occasion.
Later, he led a huge colourful rally on the city streets with participation of divisional and district level officials, students, youths, representatives of NGOs, socio-cultural, professional and human rights
organisations organisations, civil society members.

Senior District Election Officer Delwar Hossain delivered a welcome speech narrating the day and necessity of creating awareness about voting rights of the voters.
Additional Deputy Inspector General for Rangpur Range Police TM Mozahidul Islam, Deputy Police Commissioner of RpMP Abu Sufian and Additional Deputy Commissioner Sued Enamul Kabir addressed as special guests.
The chief guest called upon urged the officials concerned and civil society members for creating social awareness and inspiring the voters to cast their votes to strengthening the democracy process.
Other speakers put emphasis on inspiring the voters exercise their voting rights properly to infuse democratic culture in them for nurturing and strengthening democracy to give democracy an institutional shape.
