The oldest person in the country, Tayeb Ali of Sylhet died at the age of 135 year recently.
He died at his home in Yudhishtipur village of Fenchuganj in Sylhet. He left a large family of 69 people including 10 boys, three daughters.
After the Esha prayers on Monday, Tayeb Ali’s (grandfather) Namaz E Janaza will be performed at the Shah Syed Ali (RA) mosque complex.
Tayeb Ali’s grandson, Raju Ahmed, said that his grandfather was healthy and stable till his death. He used to walk freely and did his own works.
Long-incarnate Tayeb Ali was born in 1884. In February this year, news about him was published in various media. He claimed to be the oldest person in the world at that time. The then UNO Ayesha Haque said she would take the initiative to include his name in the Guinness World Record.
