This is the first time that the Department of Animal Resources has organized a Buffalo Exhibition to make the country self-sufficient in milk and meat. The day-long exhibition was held at the Alhaj School ground in Ishwardi on Sunday under the initiative of the Department of Fisheries and Animal Resources, Buffalo Development Project. Director of Artificial Reproduction, Department of Animal Resources. Bhabatosh Kanti Sarkar inaugurated the exhibition.
Prof. Dr. Omar Farooq, Consultant, Buffalo Development Project, was the keynote speaker under the chairmanship of UNO PM Imrul Kayes. Special guests were Divisional Animal Resources Director Dr. Abdul Majid, Upazila Parishad Chairman Naib Ali Biswas, Municipality Mayor Ishaq Ali Malitha, District Animal Resources Officer Dr. Md. Al Mamun Hossain Mandal and others. Upazila Animal Resources Officer Nazmul Hossain conducted.
Farmers from Pabna and Natore districts bring their buffaloes on display. In the exhibition, cattle feed and medicine manufacturers also show their food and medicine by allocating stalls. Later those individuals and organizations were awarded in different categories.
