State Minister for Information Tarana Halim on Sunday urged the countrymen to vote for the Awami League (AL) again in the next national election for continuation of the country’s ongoing development spree. “The continuation of the present government is a must for sustaining development and undistorted history, and standing in the world holding the head high,” she said, addressing a symposium in city.
Banglar Amra organized the symposium titled “Continuation of Power is the Story Behind a Successful Country: From Global Perspective” at a hotel in the city’s Ramna area.
Referring to different successes of the government, the State Minister said, “Reelecting the present government in the next polls will not be showing mercy to it. This government deserves this”.
Mentioning Begum Khaleda Zia’s family as one of the three most corrupt families in the world, Tarana urged the people not to vote for the corrupt family-led political party, BNP, in the next general elections.
The present government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken the country forward, she said, adding that this government deserves another chance as it has fulfilled its election pledges, including trail of war criminals, trial of Bangabandhu’s killers and transforming the country into a digital one. Earlier, the State Minister distributed certificates among the participants of the symposium.
A total of seven teams from six universities took part in the symposium and presented their keynote papers.
Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) team secured the first position while BRAC University bagged the second position.
