Staff Reporter :
There has been allegation of corruption and irregularity in the process of purchase in educational development projects. A company involved with forgery is again given opportunity to participate in the purchase process of multi-media projector. This may delay the purchase process.
In a written complaint to the parliamentary committee on Primary and Mass Education Ministry, it has been mentioned that, with the financial assistance of the World Bank, the project of distributing laptops and multi-media projectors in 60,000 primary schools started in 2012. Although tenders had been invited several times, no purchase process has so far been completed successfully. Even time some fake companies participated in the tenders with forged documents. Their bids were cancelled through scrutiny.
But for unknown reasons, no disciplinary action has so far been taken against them. Rather they have been given opportunity again.
